Customers rarely search for the whole city. They search for a service in a particular part of it.

A web agency in Stockholm builds websites for businesses in the city and makes sure they show up when nearby customers search. For a local business that usually means three things: a fast site Google can read, a page for each service and for the districts you actually work in, and a Google Business Profile that matches the website.

Solva is based in Uppsala and works with businesses across Stockholm and the rest of the country. We do not receive visitors at the office, and instead meet at your premises or online depending on what the project needs.

Four parts of a Stockholm project

  • One page per service

Someone searching for a specific service should land on a page about exactly that, not on a home page that lists everything. Each page gets its own heading, its own text and its own questions and answers.

  • District pages with real content

If you work in several districts they can have their own pages, but only when there is something specific to say about them. A copy with the place name swapped adds nothing and can drag down the rest of the site.

  • A fast, server-rendered site

We build in Next.js. Pages are delivered as finished HTML, so Google sees headings, text and links straight away without running JavaScript first.

  • A Google Business Profile that matches

Name, address, phone number and opening hours should be identical on the website, in the business profile and in the directories. Otherwise Google cannot tie the details to one and the same business.

How the search results work in Stockholm

Numbers 1 and 2 are the same as in the search results at the top of the page.

  1. 1

The map at the top is driven by the business profile

For local searches in Stockholm, Google often shows three map results before the regular results. Those places are decided by the Google Business Profile: address, category, reviews and distance to the searcher. No page on the website can take them.

  2. 2

Below the map, the website decides

The regular results are won by pages that answer the search exactly. If someone searches for a service in a particular district, the winner is usually a page about that service there, not a general home page.

  3. 3

    Stockholm is many markets

Competition for a search covering all of Stockholm is different from competition in a single district. That is why it often pays to start with the services and areas where you already have customers, and build out from there.

  4. 4

Reviews carry weight in the map

Steady, recurring reviews are one of the few local signals you can influence yourselves. The simplest way is to actually ask customers for a review when the job is done.

How it works

  1. 1

    Free review

We look at the site, what you show up for today and which services and areas matter most to you. You get a straight answer on whether we think we can help.

  2. 2

    Structure and plan

We decide which pages the site should have, one per service plus any districts, and the order they are built in.

  3. 3

    Design and build

We design and build the site ourselves in Next.js. You can then edit the content in a CMS without calling us.

  4. 4

    Launch and follow-up

We launch, connect Search Console and follow how the pages move in the search results, and tell you what the next step is.

Where are you based?

Solva is based in Uppsala and works with businesses across Stockholm and the rest of Sweden. We have no visiting address to point you to, and meet at your premises or online, depending on what the project needs.

Have you built for businesses in Stockholm?

Yes. SK Gummi in Skärholmen is a published case study: a new website with one page per service, seven district pages and a tyre shop where the customer searches by registration number and books a time. The full case study is under Work.

What does a website cost in Stockholm?

It depends on how many pages the site needs and whether it needs booking, e-commerce or connections to other systems. After a free review you get a fixed monthly price for what we have agreed.

Do we need a page for every district?

Only if you actually work there and have something specific to say about the area. A district page that just swaps one place name for another does not help, and too many of them can weaken the site as a whole.

How do we get into the map when someone searches in Stockholm?

The map results are driven by the Google Business Profile, not the website. You need a verified profile with the right category and address, details that match the website, and reviews coming in steadily. We help with that.

Do you build in WordPress?

No, we build in Next.js. Pages are rendered on the server and delivered as finished HTML, which makes them faster and easier for Google to read. You edit the content yourselves in a CMS.
